Fasting is voluntarily not eating any food for varying lengths of time. Fasting has been used as a therapy for many different conditions as well as a part of spiritual/religious practices throughout history. It has gained a great deal of interest in the past few years as a potential approach to integrate to prevent cancer, improve the effectiveness of chemotherapy and reduce cancer development. There are many ways to integrate fasting into cancer care. In our view the best approach in cancer is intermittent fasting of 13-14 hours a day. The other 10-11 hours utilize the anti inflammatory diet with minimal restrictions.
